ADHD means Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It is sometimes called ADD which means Attention Deficit Disorder. ADHD is one of the most common neurobehavioral disorders of childhood. It is usually first diagnosed in childhood and often lasts into adulthood. Children with ADHD have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviors and can be overly active. The symptoms can change with age, but for many people the disorder can continue to create great difficulty when it’s not treated. Many people with undiagnosed and untreated ADHD encounter formidable obstacles at home, in relationships, and in the workplace.
