What is a Research Study?
Research studies are clinical trials where medical professionals evaluate investigational medications under carefully controlled conditions. A clinical trial may give you access to a study medication that your regular doctor cannot provide. These are medications that have already gone through a certain amount of testing and need further evaluation. Your safety is a top priority. While you are participating in a clinical trial, doctors follow detailed study plans to monitor your health. Your privacy is protected when you participate in a clinical research study. Your health information that is collected during a clinical trial is protected by law and requires your written permission to be used in a study. By law, we are not allowed to share your information with anyone (except the study you are qualified to participate). As a study volunteer, you have the right to discontinue your study participation at any time and for any reason.
